Special Cement: The “Underground Guardian” That Pushes the Limits

Release time:2025-11-13

Low-density cement: Incorporates hollow microspheres or bentonite, with a density as low as 1.2 g/cm³

Faced with special geological conditions, scientists have developed “custom-made cement”:

1. Low-density cement: By incorporating hollow microspheres or bentonite, its density can be as low as 1.2 g/cm³, making it specially suited for treating formations with low-pressure fluid losses.

2. Gas-channeling-resistant cement: Aluminum powder is added to generate hydrogen gas bubbles, forming a “pressure barrier” that prevents natural gas from migrating upward (after application in the Daqing Oilfield, the gas-channeling rate dropped by 80%).

3. Acid-resistant cement: Replacing silicate cement with magnesia-based cement, this material dissolves completely upon contact with hydrochloric acid, thereby protecting the oil and gas reservoir (at the Jianghan Oilfield, acidizing operations have boosted production by 30%).

China’s Gap: The U.S. offers over 50 types of cement for preventing gas migration, whereas China has only slightly more than 10. High-temperature-resistant polymers (such as hydroxypropyl guar gum) rely heavily on imports; domestically produced products can withstand temperatures of only up to 120°C, and a breakthrough is urgently needed!
